The 21-year-old from Atlanta, GA, performed an original song before judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie during the season premiere on FOX.
“Something about you looks familiar,” Underwood told Littrell during his audition.
Littrell, who grew up surrounded by music, said he hopes to “do his dad justice” with his talent. “I guess you can say music runs in our family,” he said.
Despite his musical lineage, he admitted he didn’t inherit his father’s signature dance moves.
“Following in my dad’s footsteps is scary because, to me, his is one of the most extraordinary careers in music history. No one can ever compare,” Littrell said.
He recalled being mesmerized by the lights and screams of sold-out arenas as a child when the Backstreet Boys took the stage. At just eight years old, he had his first experience performing for thousands.
His father couldn’t have been prouder.
“He’s obviously grown up in the business, and I think he’s cut out for it,” Brian Littrell said.
“Trust me, I wish I wanted to do something completely different, but if I’m not doing music, there’s no way I can really exist," Baylee said.
During his audition, Baylee performed an original song and was later joined onstage by his father.
“You’ve obviously taken the time to hone your skills and your craft,” Luke Bryan told him.
With three yeses from the judges, Littrell earned his golden ticket to Hollywood.
